Barclaycard have the distinction of being the first to introduce a credit card into the UK marketplace which it did in 1966. It remained the only one available to the Uk consumer until the first competition came along in 1972. Not tied to any one network they offer both Visa and MasterCard versions. Currently over 11 million of their branded cards are in general use with 8.5 million UK customers, 800,000 of whom use online account management. Actually 20% of all cards issued in the UK are from Barclaycard. While they remain a UK owned company they operate on a global scale issuing their products in over 60 countries across the globe.

Barclaycard, possibly the best known of the credit card brands, have a range of several different card configurations as well as some affinity cards.
